Cotton/polyester comforter face is burgundy or ivory with vertical golden stripes of varying width. A subtle, all-over damask design gives the corded, throw-style comforter an ornate appearance. Polyester/cotton reverse has an all-over damask design. Solid gold, soft shell bedskirt with 15" drop has kick-pleat and split corners; reverses to a darker coordinating color. Striped shams have damask design, cording, and reverse to coordinating damask.
Striped European Sham has cording and all-over damask. Reverses to damask.
Throw blanket has stripes with all-over damask and bullion fringe on two ends. Reverses to solid color.
Washable Sheets are 250 thread count, pure cotton. Flat and pillowcases have attached self hems. Fitted has elastic all around and fits up to a 15"D mattress. Set includes two sheet set styles: Embroidered Sheets have gold vine scrolls on solid color fabric. Piped Sheets have satin piping on solid color fabric.
Gathered valances are striped with damask design and 3" pockets.
Pillows: Tufted Square is striped all-over damask, knife-edge, and a fabric-covered button. Rectangle has an inset of stripes with damask, flanked by insets of ruched gold with gimp trim. Ends are damask with tassel fringe. Neckroll has an inset of stripes with damask, separated from solid gold by gimp trim. Solid color ends have bullion fringes.
Bedding is cotton/polyester with a polyester/cotton reverse. Polyester fill. Sheets are cotton. Imported.
Dry clean. Sheets are washable. |

| I purchased this comforter set after looking for over a year for just the right set. I have ordered other comforters on line and have always been very happy with them, but this one is beyond elegant. Not to mention it is reversable from comforter to dust ruffle. The shams are so well made I had a hard time finding the zipper to put the pillows in. The sheets are so soft and have added embelishments. The price of the sheets in a department store alone would be the price of this whole set. This set is made to last for years. The throw is an added bonus to pull my room together with that extra touch. I only wish I was able to purchase drapes to go with the valances but any gold or burgandy brocade will work. | I bought this set for my daughter's birthday (she just got her own apartment), and its WAY nicer looking than the picture - it definitely doesn't do the set justice! The comforter is so soft and light but warm as well! Her bedroom looks like a million bucks with this set. I'd call it a pale blue and golden brown for the colors. I agree with the other reviewer, take the time to purchase 2 euro (square) pillows, cause it looks much nicer with all the shams. Comes with 2 complete sets of coordinating sheets - all the xtras just make it that much better! Extremely pleased with this purchase! |

the bed set looks as good in person as it does in the picture.
It's a combo of greyish blue with brown which gives a total modern-chic environement to our bed room.
The price is great as well.
Be prepared and buy the pillows so that once your set arrives you would have everything you need to dress your bed up. I had to go out and buy them after my set arrived. You need 2 square pillows for the European shams, and you can use your sleeping pillows for the pillow shams or you can buy separate pillows so that you don't have to dress and undress your sleeping pillow. |

| This set is all-around good quality. Said simply, if you like the picture, you will be satisfied with the product when it arrives. The only thing I would change about this product is instead of offering 4 valences, offer 1 or 2 with a set of drapes to go with it. I purchased the Ivory color, and can tell you it is true to the picture, and even has some nice underlying background patterns that are not readily apparent from the small picture. This item is as elegant as pictured! I bought the king-size ivory. I had a lot of doubts concerning the quality of the material and fabric, and I am not disappointed at all! Except, of course, it comes wrinkled and squished from the packaging, but time has unwrinkled all of it.
Don't be deceived by the picture; on the ivory, it has an extra throw in solid gold. This set comes with one throw; one side is solid gold, the other is the same pattern as the comforter.
They don't make it very clear on the description, but here is what you will need to buy to go with it:
4 king-size pillows (two for the sheet set, two for the comforter set)
2 euro-size pillows (26" square)
2-4 curtain rods (depending on the number of and width of your windows)
I only wish the sheet sets had a higher thread count (TC), however, they are not rigid like I thought they'd be. They're actually not a tremendous difference from my 600 TC sheet set.
I received it through FedEx 9 total days after making the purchase, which in my opinion was a bit too long. |

This is the first bedset that I've purchased and actually loved. I've had it for a few months now and I still stop in my doorway to admire it each day. You do need to buy the euro pillows, Amazon recommended a pair and I purchased them (careful reviewing those, some freak gets obsessive if you say one negative thing). I like that the euro shams are removable, when the euro pillows get too misshapen I can replace them and the set will look new again.
This wouldn't be a realistic review if I only spoke of the positives, so here's the cons:
It is dryclean only. One day my two year old squished some m&m's into the comforter and I wanted it cleaned immediately so I took the risk and threw it in the washer and dryer on delicate, the comforter stood up wonderfully and so did the throw, decorative pillows and the shams.
Although this is mostly cotton, it does snag if you have rough feet (like my construction worker husband); however it certainly doesn't get matted like polyester fabrics. So long as you use the sheet underneath the comforter, you'll be okay. Anyway, I still recommend it and I still love it. |

I made the mistake of not reading all the reviews until AFTER I purchased this product. I was then a little discouraged waiting for the set to come, after reading the negative reviews on here. I was already thinking about how I would have to return this giant package.
But when the set came, I wasn't disappointed. I'll admit, the set is not going to last forever. It seems to be sewn fairly well, but you can tell it wasn't handsewn by Grandma. The throw pillows could use some improvement, but maybe they'll look better once they've been fluffed a while. One of the reviews mentioned that the fabric was very rough- I disagree. The fabric is not 1200tc Egyptian cotton, so if you bought this set expecting it to feel like it, that's your mistake. The sheet sets feel just as comfy to me as some of my 600-800tc sets. The comforter itself is warm and fluffy with a nice weight to it, even if the fabric isn't super soft. The shams are very nice with great hiding of the zippers. The only thing I was slightly disappointed with is the bedskirt- it's very thin fabric and I was honestly kind of concerned about causing it to rip against the tacks while i was repositioning the mattress.
Overall, for the price, this is a great set. The negative reviews may have some validity, but if you consider the price and the amount of pieces, it should be perfectly obvious that you're not going to get super soft, ultra luxurious pieces. I really like the set and I have really started looking forward to bedtime! |

| I just recieved my bed set today, whick only took 6 days to get. The decorative pillows are of poor quality, not much stuffing. You could get better ones at even a wal-mart, I bet. The comforter was a little scratchy but not that big of a deal to me or my husband. There were a lot of extra threads on the comforter, I have a half a hand full of loose threads. The sheets I didn't think were scratchy at all. Everything else was ok too. The dec. pillows and extra threads would be my only complaint. |

Look is exactly like the one in the pic so it makes your room very elegant.
However, the feel of the materials is coarse. At first I thought probably it's too new so I washed it a couple times, hoping the material will soften. Unfortunately it doesn't. My hubby also complains about the roughness of the sheets. We have purchased cheap and expensive sheets before but nothing has made us feel so uncomfortable...close to or maybe even worse than touching jeans. Also, there are a lot of extra threads are left from ends of sewing. It's like an unfinished job before they are packaged. The set seems to be those that are manufactured for the dept store but is disqualified and so ends up at Amazon.
I purchased the set because of the wonderful reviews. I'd like to provide a more balanced view. |
